Hello. I've recently converted from Palm to PPC. I received my Axim X5 yesterday and set the ActiveSync options to sync with my AvantGo account. OK, everything works fine. This morning I realize that it only has version 3.3.864 installed. I download the latest which is 3.3.1164. Now, when I sync with AvantGo, it searches for a floppy disk in the A: drive. Everything works fine, other than my A: drive being accessed during the AvantGo sync.

Any ideas? Thanks.

:P I had the same problem myself. I ended up downloading the newest version of MS Active Sync from their web site and then downloaded the application update from my AvantGo site.......this way it remembered all my settings. Installed 1-2 and now everything is fine. I would suggest deleting the AvavntGo from your Axim and your PC before installing the update, same goes for the active sync. Also remeber to leave you Axim undocked while you re-install the newer version of active sync...unitl it requests your Axim.

Hope this works for you.

I already have the ActiveSync 3.6 installed. I never did install version 3.5. I just pointed Windows to the Axim driver location on the CD when I connected my Axim to the PC for the first time.

Order of installation:
1) Install ActiveSync 3.6
2) Point Windows to location of drive on CD
3) Sync with original AvantGo (ver 3.3.864)
4) Upgrade to AvantGo ver 3.3.1164

When I sync with the newer version of AvantGo, something is seeking the A: drive. I don't like this. There is no way to downgrade to ver 3.3.864. Once you uninstall ver 3.3.1164, the complete program is gone from my PC.

I reinstalled ActiveSync 3.6, which restored AvantGo ver 3.3.864. I guess I'll stick with the older version.
