ROM upgrade & pxa 255 info
i upgraded to rom a03 yesterday...i've got the axim for nearly 2 month now and the processor is pxa 250 i guess...but after the upgrade it's showing pxa 255...it seems strange to me. do you believe the info about your device?

I'm also a happy customer......cause I got the 255 version ;)
However, I wasnt able to locate any concrete information on the major differences between the 250 and 255 versions of the core. I just found someone mentioning a difference in the bus frequency, and thats about it........
Not that I actually care that much (hey, I got the latest processor core, and the 400MHz version, so I'm cool ), but I would like to know what are the actual differences of the two versions......

the major difference is, as i guess, that the pxa 255 is much quicker than the 250 one...the difference should be quite noticable, but i personally haven't used two different devices...

Well, yeah, thanks, but since I'm an IT engineer, I was looking for something more concrete than "its much quicker" ;)
I only got the bus frequency difference, and not much else.....not even internal clock speeds, bus widths, or anything else......

Instead of going up on the "cleverness" ladder, we seem to be going down.......
Anyone with any serious comments about the differences between the 250 and 255 cores ?

255 has 200MHz bus, 250 has 100MHz bus--basically the only difference. Someone has reported that they opened up one of the new Axims and it also has a newer RAM chip with 133MHz bus compared to 100MHz bus on the old ones.
I went from a 250 to a 255 Axim Advanced and I noticed a little difference in speed between the two.

Thats more like it! :D I already knew about the bus frequency, but I didnt know that the RAM is clocked differently. Maybe that explains why the newest Axims dont seem to perform all that better when overclocked......;)

Just that I was expecting and wanted a more clever and sophisticated answer ;)
I want some real info, so that I can see for myself the differences between the two models......
