I havent seen anything conclusive yet. The possibility is there, but depends on several things. First off, the Ax has to be wired appropriately. If it is, then someone will probably have to write Axim specific drivers. Beyond that, there are probably a lot of compatibility issues that will arise.
a) open up the axim and physically look for the IRQ wires. Hopefully one leads to the SD slot.
b) Use a good benchmarking software for the PPC to test the IRQs.
From what I've read so far, it's sounds like the SD slot has been wired for 1-bit and true SDIO is 4-bit, therefore the driver would need to determine the limitation of the slot and act accordingly. Pure speculation. I don't have any SDIO cards. Anxious to hear some test results.
What I dont understand, is that small SD wifi card,
if they can make that so small why the heck
cant they make a CF wifi card that
doesnt have to stick out at all? or at least retractable
when not in use...

good point, that extra stuff on top is where the antenna wire is coiled up, i dont know where they stick it in a little SD card :rolling:
Now my question.. IS the axim SDIO or not?? from what i read its just theories if it is. I dont have much use for it but would be cool if it is sdio :)
Thank you for the info! Somebody on this forum has been slagghing me off for asking whether the SD was a setting problem which Is assumed. I seemed to be on the right track. Let's hope that we will get the SDIO capabilities!
Regards,
Peter

Someone needs to simply buy the Toshiba SD Bluetooth card and give it a try...
Concerning physical IRQ wiring to the SD drive: I've seen photos of an open Axim somwhere, I will try to email that person and see if he has any info about the IRQs.

They do have a CF version of that card, I remember seeing one for the NX70 Clie.
The antenna is still parallel to the card. The pcmcia card's antenna is perpendicular to the car. The antenna is almost flush with a laptop when installed.

aibo, the little robot dog? why would it need a wificard?? what do u do with wifi on a dog
There is a lot of software out that allows the Aibo to intercept and read your email (Aibo Messenger) to you when it arrives. It also has a color camera that allows you to monitor your house while your away(Aibo Eyes, Aibo Explorer). All possible with a wifi card. I also have remote control of my Aibo thru my Axim via wifi. :D Wouldn't be nice if you could tell your webcam to get up and go check out a room, pan left, pan right? With Aibo, you can!
