Maybe USB Host???

Hello.

Tryin' hardly to get USB HOST for my X5 got stucked at one question. Is it possible to use a CF to PCMCIA adapter and a PCMCIA USB 2.0 HOST CARD?

OK, i know pcmcia cards are big but let's say for some specific applications, don't know like putting ur axim into a car or something. Maybe using some USB Stick with it.

P.S. The adapter is about 10USD and the card around 15USD. 25 is far cheaper then 100USD and up.

But will ti work? Has anyone tried it?

There is at least one CompactFlash USB host, which is manufactured by Ratoc (google it). sells around $140. You might find a better deal on ebay (others in this forum have reported this)

CF to PCMCIA adapter allows to insert CF card to PCMCIA slot, not opposite. It costs about $3.5-$10. But if you have find PCMCIA to CF slot adapter - tell me: I would like to see.

There is an adapter to use a Pcmcia Card in a cf slot. I use one for my wifi Card. The challenge will be to find the usb Card with Pocket PC Drivers and running at the lower Voltage required by the AXim
