Aximsiteactivesyncicon Lock-up after disconnecting

My x5 (wm2k3) locks up after I disconnect it from the cradle (ActiveSync) and requires a soft-reset to use it again. This began happening a few weeks ago, so I decided to hard-reset (no restore) but the problem continues. This happens both when I disconnect at home and at work. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Did you install some new s/w just before this problem started? It seems like some conflict with the AS and the new s/w you installed. It could also mean some corrupt file is sitting in your built in storage where AS is trying to access!
When you did the hard reset, did you test it immediately for a lock-up, i.e. before re-loading your files from desktop/laptop PC to Axim?

OK give us a few pointers here - have you got any cards in the x5? - if so try it without them in there.

When does it lock up - does anything come onto the screen?

A bit more info and we might be able to help you

Thank you for your interest in helping me!

I did not install any new software, but I did update one of my programs (PocketWeather) to a new version. I will have to investigate that some more. I have removed/reinstalled A/S without eliminating the lock-ups. Removing storage cards has no effect. There are no error messages presented. The device simply becomes unresponsive to taps and button clicks. What does work is to stop A/S from running on the device before disconnecting.

Do a full hard Reset - and try for a few days on a blank system (just the OS) see if you get it then - then re-install programs one at a time until you come up to the fault - then never re-install that program again!!!!!!!!
