system freezes up

Twice now my system has frozen - buttons take me to programs, the jog works, but I can't do anything. Nothing responds when I touch the screen. Is this a hardware problem? Is it common? Last time I had to a hard reset and restore my backup. What would cause this? I am not running any unusual or exotic programs.

Well, it is a Microsoft opperating system, so I think common would have to be a relative term...........

it's done it to me also...sept i use the soft reset
