32mb memory upgradeable ?

my axim x5 shows 1.10mb free -storage and 3.81mb free program memory. The axim has 32mb total - anyway to upgrade this ? I guess the SD card is like a memory upgrade ? right now my axim seems slower is it because of this ? so when i get my SD card I should put all the software/games and run it off the card ?

A hard reset would clear a lot of it out. Otherwise don't install programs to "Main Memory", install it to your SD card.

You used to be able to get a memory upgrade done by www.ppctechs.com but they have stopped doing it now - something about dell changing the memory chips - I dont think any other company took up the mantle of offering upgrades so you loose out there.

Like the previous poster said - Hard reset then install as many programs to either SD or CF as you can - however there are some programs that just wont run off these and have to be installed in main memory - trial and error I'm afraid!

Stop:exc:

Before doing anything else take some time to sit and read the tutorials - you will gain a lot of useful information from them.

And yes a hard reset has the same effect as taking both batteries out for a while - but it is done without removing the batteries - the tutorials will tell you more
