Which PPC Magazines do you like?
Since I'm getting in to this whole Pocket PC thing, I want to subscribe to a PPC magazine. I've seen: Which ones do you read? Do you like them?

I go w/ PocketPC Magazine. Seems concise yet has a lot of useful info. They also do good reviews on products, etc. It is also available in a version you can download to PocketPC, too.

I bought the Pocket PC mag earlier in the year (Mar), liked it, I then bought the May issue and will get July shortly. I have never read any of the others that were mentioned. Even though I purchased my Axim in March, I am still new to this whole hand-held thing. I never owned one until now and now I can't live without it.

Pocket PC mag is good, although they have a very strange subscription cycle. Published 6 times per year...I just received my Sept 2003 issue. Ususally, mag cycles are a month in advance but in this case, 3 months ahead!
That's irrelevant though.....good mag!

I agree, Pocket PC mag is excellent. I subscribe to it, but I always seem to wind up buying the Handheld Computing mags when they come out on the newsstands.

Do any of them have ezine subscriptions that are readable from the Ax? Don't you think that should be the point?

Yeah, Pocket PC Magazine has a version that can be read on the Axim. I subscribe to PPC Mag. I have a couple issues of Handheld, but I have found that they seem to be more bias toward palms. Even with that bias, Axim was still handheld of the year though!

Pocket PC magazine is available to Computer, Print, and PDA. Each subscription is about $20 a year, but if you buy two of the subscriptions, you get all three.

OT but my school recently did a project with local business and PPC. We programmed using the .Net framework to meet the clients needs. The reason I bring this up is that our teacher said that its going to be in PPC Mag. I think thats rather cool myself, for those of you with the sept issue see if its in there, she was being very frantic about getting it done like 2 weeks ago.

Why would Pocket PC Magazine be biased toward Palm. If this is true it's quite unfortunate.

Same here!
I like the reviews on the SOFTWARE, they are waaaaaaaaaaay to biased about ipaqs.
I hate that, almost every pic in there is with an ipaq.
They ALWAYS review the new ipaqs first.

massive, read the quote quoted from smeg36. He said Handheld Computing is more biased toward Palms...NOT Pocket PC Mag.
Micah's right...Pocket Pc Mag is the best especially w/ software reviews. I like the screenshots included w/ most of them. But, too true, they are terribly biased toward Ipaq's. I subscribe to PocketPC, but usually do pick up Handheld just so I don't miss anything!!

I refuse to read the statement over again, I'll assume I was right and carry on with my day. As for my dealings in the world of handhelds, I limit it to using my handheld and posting on this forum. I don't need to order a magazine in order to satisfy my PDA needs.
