I'm not sure where you heard this, but most users on this site will say just the opposite. The Axim will play just about every ARM or XScale application/game that is out there. There are a few buggy ones, but these are usually also buggy on other Pocket PCs as well. Read in the Games Forum here on Aximsite, and you'll find many threads similar to this one that touch on this topic.

I have both Doom and Quake on my Axim. Is that what you mean by games?

The Axim is a great gaming system! Emulators, native games, you name it... with dual expansion, good screen, good battery life, and awesome native selection to boot, you probably ordered IMHO the best gaming platform available... aside from a full computer of course. You might get unlucky and get an unbalanced D-Pad, but chances are you'll be fine in this respect, it is a tad weak in terms of tactile feedback, but other than that it seems fine to me.

I think you can get it free, but IIRC, you load up the same game files, but with a separate EXE file to run on the WinCE system, with alternative UI. Doom has been ported in much the same way, same with Sim City 2000, and a few other games like this. Argentum is the coolest native game I've seen though, it's a real-time strategy. Of course, you'll be abel to load up traditional board games and so on as well.
