Cool a powerful game console

well, i 've been thinking. what is the best harware modification to turn your X5 into an Arcade Machine, and play those emulated games ?

i thought of something - placing an addition to the D-pad - (i don;t find the d-pad suitable for gaming) - such as the stick from an used joystick !!

with a hardened d-pad as shown in a previous post at harware guides, i'll put a stick on it ! TA da DA. the problem is - what about the buttons ? because it sucks playing widescreen with both hands in the left side :realmad: So, the only eligible solution is - create a special case , only for gaming? has anyone did that?

just curios, cuz i  those mame games...

Whip up something with an external D-pad and buttons soldered to the circuit board from a Belkin SnapNType. That's what I plan to do.

sounds complicated. I don't know too much electronics and i don't wanna be a surgeon. So small things are not safe with me :D

Well, no BT in the X5 series, so you can't use the Chainpus. You might still be able to find a Belkin SnapNType for X5 and use that keyboard.
Edit: can't find the SnapNType for the X5, I guess they never made it. Look for an IR keyboard?

The controls aren't ideal, but I can usually get around in a game with no problem. The only thing that is REALLY annoying is trying to press a and b at the same time. I've played all the way though Blaster Master, SUper Mario 3, Zelda and Zelda 2. So I'm not having enough trouble to want to try to revamp the whole thing.
