I need anti virus software for my Axim X5, Pocket PC 2000. My Excel documents are corrupted :realmad: . Has anyone experienced this problem? I've looked for the software but only for Pocket PC 2003 and later.
Can you explain corrupted. No very intensive virus has been found for the PPC that woudl do this. Can you provide more information. As for a free Anti Virus for PPC look here

If I open the synced Excel files on the pc, I get a warning about Macros. Gives me a window to enable or diable macros. If I enable the Excel file it opens correctly. But when I open that same file on my Axim, the only text I see on the document is: This sheet is a placeholder for an unsupported sheet type. Thats why I think I need some kind of anti virus software for my Axim.
I highly doubt that your Axim has a virus. More likely, the spreadsheets have functions that aren't supported in Pocket Excel. Try creating a simple spreadsheet on the pc, move it to your Axim and see what happens. Keep adding functions and complexity and see at what point it can't handle it.
Or maybe make a copy of the suspect file and start stripping items from it until you can determine what function/feature/element of the spreadsheet is causing the problem.

I agree with crawil. I don't think your PPC has a virus. Most probably it's just Pocket Excel not being able to open your Excel document because of some formatting. Or perhaps you could post your document if it is not sensitive and let other members have a go at it.

I'm pretty certain that Pocket Excel doesn't support any kind of macro. Checkout this article: http://www.ogasawalrus.com/mobilevie...qs/PocketExcel. As far as anti-virus software? I just always run my desktop/laptop version before putting any files onto my PPC. Hoping that if there is anything new virus-wise it isn't specific to the ppc.
I have 10 Excel documents in a folder. The documents open up fine from the pc. When I open up the documents from ppc, four out of the ten have a blank page. The others open fine. All files are synced no conflicts. All documents have correct names and properties. It just appears that these documents have been corrupted some how. I'm really puzzled by all this :rolling:
Are all of the documents consistent? Are they structurally the same? Do any have something unique (other than different data) in them? Again, are the "corrupt" ones sensitive? If not, could you share at least one for someone else to try?
