After start-up of My PC, I need to re-load Active Sync!

I've had my Axim for a couple of months now, and by and large, all things doing with "syncing" are going well . . . but . . . if/when I have to shut down my PC, when it wakes up, Activesync can't find my Axim. I tried numerous solutions with no luck. I finally decided to start over and re-install the software from the CD-ROM. That worked; everything was fine until the next re-start of the PC. I now have a copy of Activesync on my hard drive ready to be re-installed.
The questions here are: What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it? Should I be saving something?
By the way, I'm using a cradle through a USB port. (When it fails it won't find the Axim in any USB port.)

What OS are you running? What version of Active sync?

I'm running windows XP and Activesync 3.6. Also, I saw a brief error message on my Axim at one of these re-boots that had something to do with TCP/IP default. What's that?

You may need to upgrade to 3.7. Also, check and make sure activesync is in your startup under msconfig.

I had this same problem under Windows NT. At the suggestion of someone on this board, I installed all the windows updates and upgraded to IE6. Since then, no trouble with active sync. Hope this helps.
