new digitizer installed, axim back to health.

digitizer installed, went great, was a pain getting it together without any dust between the digitizer and screen...but its back to full health now, actually a bit better than full health cause i modded the dpad making it alot better - but more on that later.

here are a few pics from the install.

It's like open heart surgery on your axim!

It was horrifying and exciting to watch at the same time :p

LOL! If only you had videotaped the whole thing you could probably sell the tape to the Discovery Channel for one of those gruesome surgery segments...! Maybe not enough blood, but you can just hear the Doc saying "Exacto knife, stat!" At least you didn't have to report back that "we did everything possible, but there was just too much damage..."

Good work and nice post!

Good job Coolhand. Can't wait to see the pics of the D-Pad mod! Might get a "voice" in my head telling me to do it myself if it was a success. :)

Having just sent by Ax back because of the DPad I'd also like to know how it was reinforced...Maybe he could sell the tips to Dell ;)

The Ax is a great little machine...If that DPad were just a little better...
