About my order for my Dell Axim

Well I put in my order for my Axim on Tuesday, and I have found out by E-mailing Dell that it seems that the parts for the Axims are on backorder so I really woun't get it until Febuary!! ARG! Well I just wanted to let those people out there who did not order their Axims yet, EXPECT DELAY!! But the good thing about it is that my order for my Axim will be a top priority on the assembly line, or so the Dell Rep says...

I know what you mean, I ordered mine Monday. I've been hearing people, who ordered in December that still aren't getting their deliveries. I still hope we're taken into consideration. <_<

I ordered mine in mid December, and it arrived in about 10 days...so don't loose hope!

Mine took 10 day too. I ordered another on on the 10th, so I'll see how long that one takes. It's worth the wait! :)

Ordered mine today (1/16) and Dell says it will ship on or before 2/10.

They must have run out sometime just before Christmas. I ordered mine on 12/26 with a ship date of 1/9. Well that ship date has since slipped to 1/30. Ugh. I'm so anxious to get it...backorders stink!

My intention here is not to be mean, but my order date was also 12/26. I received mine on 1/2. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Although it did not take that long to deliver, it seemed like an eternity. I kept checking the Dell website, the UPS website, the mailbox, the front door. I would dream about receiving my Axim, then wake up and cry as I realized it was only a dream. :(

Patience, patience. It will come. By the way, Dell originally informed me a ship date of 1/15. I think they add a few weeks to the ship date just in case.

Ordered Tuesday, got the order placement email but no "confirmation" yet! It said "within one business day" but it has been two. I got a very good deal: 300MHz Axim, screen protectors, and a NEC 19" monitor for $320 shipped after coupons! (I got the low price because of a $40 off $300 discount that wasn't supposed to apply to the Axim, and a $100 off $400 coupon for Software & Peripherals that came with a Dell PC.) And if the rebate works, I'll get it all for $270 after the rebate!

I ordered mine on a sunday(1/5) night and had it by wendsday(1/8) of the same week. Not trying to brag, but I am glad I had mine so quick after hearing horror stories about waiting. But I ordered the 400mhz axim, which from what I hear, is in lower demand then the 300mhz axim.

How long did it take the rest of you that ordered 300MHz Axims for you to get the Axim?

I ordered mine (400mhz) on Dec. the 19th and was given a dat of Jan. 6th for delivery. I got it the day after Christmas. Man was I surprised when I got home that day. :( brings tears to my eyes.

damn the guy who ordered on 16th and got a confirmation, i ordered 15th and stiil no confirmation :( i hope they have it in stock in my area in Phoenix, AZ. Anyone know a time frame that lives in my area how long it took them and when they ordered?

Under promise and over deliver. That is the mantra of success in the business world. I received mine a full two and one half weeks prior to when it was to be SHIPPED.

I bet you receive yours sooner than you expect.

And it was well worth the wait for me. I live in Alaska but received mine nine days after I ordered (really eight days as I ordered at like 3:00 AM).

I ordered one on the 1/10, got a confirmation within 40 minutes and an expected ship date of 2/4/03. I ordered a second one on 1/15 and have yet to receive confirmation. The Dell rep I spoke to last night said I should get the confirmation today but I feel like I got a "Check is in the mail" response. The dell reps seem to be either really nice or really crabby (based on the 5 I've spoken to).

I just hope my unit(s?) ship soon. <_<

Dell sent me "a shipped" e-mail that was bogus. When I ordered Dell generated two order numbers for me, not sure why (one one the Axim and the othe was termed "TRACKING C and D").

It sent "it has shipped" on the one order number and the other was held in production for several days.

Note that Dell has done the same thing for a friend of mine at work.

Bottom line is that I received my Axim two and one half weeks prior to when it was to be shipped.

I think Dell practices the age old good business practice of under promising and over delivering.

My e-mail kinda kills that, but I do believe that you will receive your Axim prior to when Dell says that should.
