Axim Refurbs Question

How are Dell's Axim refurbs? There are many on eBay at killer prices.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well they're very good most of the time! I haven't heard any bad thinks about them so I think you can buy one without any fear.

There's a change it has'n't got the new pxa255 processor.

hope this helps a little bit.

my buddy has one

my buddy has a refurbed axim and when he got it....i could not belive it was refurbished....it looked like new...actually i think they are new...the internals are old but the screen, outer shell and the battery is new...actually you can PM him and ask him eriknelson that is his user name...you can look him up and send a PM...or actually i will just tell him to reply to your thread....i wanted a refurbished one...but then dell came out with a good deal...and i just got the new one...but i would not worry about it...the refurbished ones are great...and most of the refurb's come with the cradle...

hope this helps....sorry for any spelling mistakes...later

:)

does anyone know for sure or at least have a good idea if the refurbs have the pxa255 or the pxa250 chip in them? or maybe someone who has recently purchsed one from ebay. I really want to buy another one but do not want to pay full price and i also want to wait long enough to get a refurb with the newer chip. maybe i'm asking too much.

It's luck of the draw. It all depends what was wrong with it when it was sent back to Dell.

I also got a AXIM basic through compugeeks.com.

Looked brand new. Didn't come with a cradle, but had the cables. No problems to date.

Be careful though, I ordered an Dell Axim from compgeeks and when I got it the screen was not responsive. I still have not gotten a replacement back and that was a month ago. Compgeeks support is terrible.
