My computer thinks my pda is a guest

When I open activsync on my computer (and the pda is not in the cradle) the computer screen shows Kathleenpda. When I put the pda in the cradle, the computer screen shows Guest and won't sync with the pda. Any suggestions.

Delete all previous patrnership and then re-Sync. This maybe du top the security you have on the PC. If you ar restricted on Registry update it will do onlt Guest.

Sorry you are way above my head. How would I delete partnerships.
Where would I find registry to update it.
You are dealing with a nubee, so please be patient and provide simple explanations. I really appreciate your help.

Lets start with this one first:

To delete partnerships without the Axim in the cradle, open Activesync on your PC and go to the menu File -> Delete Partnerships (on version 4.1 it is Delete Device)

Put the Axim back in the cradle and see if it is corrected.
