I use the Write Shields, and I use them because I am OCD and a scratch on my screen would drive me nuts, so I do not want to have to pay $100-$200 to have my screen replaced. Better safe than sorry.

I use the Dell's & have been impressed with their longevity. Yes - you must clean them before installation, but I don't have the difficulties mentioned by many others.
I bought the CoolWrite ones, and I had alot of air bubbles under the protector + I lost most of my Axim's pretty screen glare.
Is that common with protectors, or is it just CoolWrites' ?
PS. I also hate the idea of applying a "sticker" on the screen.

The Write RIghts are also like a sticker and have a problem with bubbles, which is why I went with the Write Shields. The Write Shields are kind of a hard sheet of plastic that are not adhesive. They are more like a static cling type. I have used the same one since December, and still have no reason to change it. It cuts down on the glare, but does not change the viewability (if that is a word) of the screen.

Another vote for WriteShield. The first one I installed went on without a hitch. No bubbles, no dust, just a perfect installation. And, it is still in that condition after 5 months constant use. When first installed, clarity was great. The WriteShield shows a few very minor "rub" marks, but does not hinder the clarity at all. I anticipate several more months before I have to replace it. Pricey? A bit, but when you want to protect something, you don't want something that does a poor job of protecting. Additionally, when you amortize the cost over the life, we are talking very small coins.:D
I will be getting a free Deluxe WS pack in about a week ;)

I don't use any. I never did with my Palm V, and I don't ever plan to with my Axim. I don't ever carry it around without its case, so the screen isn't ever exposed unless it's being used or charged or something like that. I figure by the time the screen gets scratched badly enough, I'll want something new anyway.
I'd rather put that $20 toward an SD card or something
