Question Modem disconnected? X5 w/Motorola V557 +Cingular

After getting everthing working, (they were paired, etc.) I now keep getting this error after making connection: The answering modem has disconnected. I can't send/receive email because this happens

Can anyone advise on possible solutions?

Axim X5 - PPC 2003
Yes I got download patch from Dell for CF Card
Socket BT Compact Flash Card installed w/software/drivers, etc.

Dialing number: *99***1#
User name: ISPDA@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Domain: blank
Extra dial-sting commands: I have no idea - can't find the info but when it worked one time I think I had entered +CGDCONT=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR"

Wait for dial tone - unchecked
Wait for credit card - 0 seconds

TCP/I - Use server assigned

Don't know if it matters but I've tried baud rates 19200, and 57600, and 115200-- all recommended from different sources on this site and Socket user guide.

Also, don't know if relevant, but when I try to tap on Bluetooth under Connections, I get error "There is no bluetooth hardware installed on this device". yet when I tap on BT icon on bottom of Today screen, it obviously sees BT.

I've done soft reset several times and re-entered modem settings, etc.

Thanks in advance for any and all assitance !!

I have an Axim x50v & Motorola v557 on Cingular GSM

My phone begins the dialing process then drops the call... before it's even answered.

The same thing happens when I try to launch the process from my notebook...

Naturally I get the unable to connect error from my windows devices.

Guess I don't know what I'm doing.

and you must have a data plan or one of the medianet plans. With media net you will eat ub mbs pretty quickly with the axim, so beware.

yup - and from what cingular says you have to have the communication manager installed in order for things to function properly cabled or via bluetooth.
