So far I have narrowed my keyboard search down to either the Dell Thumbpad, the Dell regular keyboard or the Pockettop keyboard. I don't know that the Thumpad would be big enough to accomodate my fingers. The Pockettop KB looks like it is pretty good too. I was wondering about the Dell KB though. I don't know how it folds up or if it even folds up at all. Has anyone tried this keyboard out? I would like to find out what anyone thinks about the Dell keyboard and give us all a little info on it performance. Thanks for any assistance

I suppose it just depends on your preference, and what usage would be like. The Dell full keyboard does fold. I waited until the thumbpad came out because I knew that I would not do alot of typing on the Axim. It was not like I could do papers or anything, and I would not be taking it out in class. The only thing I would really use it for is to enter my schedule (when I finally get a job, which is hopefully this coming week) and maybe contacts. But I was tired of using the onscreen keyboard, so I went with the less expensive, and smaller option.

It is on the Dell website. You can either search this forum for the thread Dell Thumbpad, or look at Dell's site. Look under accessories and then instead of chosing Home and Office, choose Higher Eduction, sort by Dell products, and you will see it.

I was asking the same questions I almost went with the dell keyboard but opted for the pocketop keyboard and so far I really like it, it is vary compact and easy to carry in a pocket, I did find a few down falls with it, the spacebar is really hard to get used to it's really small and has groves in it. I find myself needing to go back and correct spacing. The other thing is I think it should lock into place when it is opened. so that you can use it off a table top. But overall I like it and after time I think I'll get used to it.
I almost ordered the Dell keyboard when I ordered my Axim. As I wait for my Axim to arrive, I wondered what I was going to do with two keyboard. I have one for my Palm 515. For a while after the Axim arrives I will probably have to carry both PDA's and I wasn't looking forward to carrying two keyboards. Now I know what to do about this delimma. Thanks.
:)
Just FYI- you can lock it in place with the attachment that connects to the stand. The instructions don't describe this well, but you use the "landscape mode" hinge and lock the keyboard with it. Give it a try, should solve your issue.
Thanks for the info I'll have to give that a try.. never thought of that, but thanks for the reminder the manual isn't the greatest either. Don' get my wrong, it's a great keyboard.
I have a Pocketop for Axim and a Stowaway for Sony clie. Pocketop may not be the easiest to use keyboard, but its landscape mode is quite posible the best for Axim. check out the pic.
