Question reading a fragmented file from cf/sd card

i have a database file (about 100mb) that i use on my x5 (read only access on the x5).
this is regularly copied from the pc on the flash card.
as long as this database file is available on the flash card as a single datablock, i can read it with the x5. but when it is fragmented (into 2 pieces) i can no longer read these data with the x5, while it is accessible without any problems from the pc or palm.
what's the problem with fragmented files on the x5 and is there a patch to fix it?

I would check tha manufacturer of the card but first the flash card is not a hard drive so no spinning to get to the two files. This mean that the file has to be in memory to be able to access it. At 100Mb, I think you are asking too much to your X5 in this case.

Mad

i think the document reader only loads the chunks of the database in memory, that are really used. so why should it make any difference if the file is fragmented or not?
if i have an unfragmented file of 130mb on the cf, this works.
it makes no difference if i use a cf or sd card. so i don't think that the flash card manufacturer can help.

Your device may not be able to get the fragmentation location due to its size. I am just making suggestins here as I do not use my storage card like you do.
