Boot Image change

Is it possible to change the Boot image logo?? (the blue dell bubble) Thanks!

Good question. I would also like to know. Although I did have a boot screen manager mess up my pc.

My guess is that it is unchangeable. I've tried deleting/renaming/replacing files that come with the Pocket PC OS, like Solitaire, and it always says that the file is a part of the ROM and therefore cannot be fooled around with. I assume this also applies to the boot image.

But...if you're able to get it to change, let me know! :)

You can often overwrite pocketpc rom files without problem (keep track of what you have overwritten) so if you track down that file, you could use a resource hacker program to change the image (difficult) or if the image is simply a jpg, then you can overwrite it with a jpg of your choice and when you want to go back to the default dell image, just delete yours. That *should* work but you takes your chances <g>.

Yes, find the name of the Jpeg file, rename the jpeg you want to the same, and overwrite...I plan to play with this and I'll submit my results!

Yes I think if you overwrite an inmage or something in ROM that it will be used from then on unless you do a hrd reset, then the original one will be back. I did this with my old Jornada 548 PPC media player that didnt really support skinning, so I just changed all the original skins to what I wanted.

Hmm.. I sold my old 548. I still can't find the image logo anywhere in the windows folder... Might be hidden in a .cab, .dat, etc... ;)
