Aximsitewifiicon Random disconnect w/ x5

My x5 randomly disconnects from activesync when connected through USB, i can undock and redock and it connects fine and at random later it disconnects - normaly when it's at idle.

It's a x5 advance. with a dock. latest edt of ActiveSync. 1gb sd, linksys wifi CF card with A05.
What is wrong here?

Also, how can I sync wirelessly?

Not sure about the USB problem, you might want to chedk to be sure the contacts are clean...

All you have to do for wireless sync is connect to the same network, be sure activesync is running on both PPC and PC, then from the PPC, choose "sync" and it should look on the network for the PC (you may have to configure the IP addresses on the two devices first, not sure, I dont use it much (I dont actually sync it much - I use a program on my PPC to backup, and 99% of my stuff is on SD cards *shrug*))

The other thing to check is your settings within Active Synch - in the options is a place to indicate how quickly you want Active Synch to disconnect.

Icon14 Solution to random disconnects from ActiveSync

I had the same problem and did some searching. It appears to be fixed and the problem is not with the unit nor is it with ActiveSync. Go into device manager and pull up your USB Hubs. They have a setting under power management to 'allow windows to turn off this device to save power' with a checkbox. I found the one that showed the Axim x30 connected and unchecked that setting and it hasn't happened since. Its only been a few hours but it basically always did it before then so I think that must be it and it sounds reasonable.

I would give the thanks to the guy that mentioned this but I dont remember the page I found it on ...
