Worried Contacts/Email/Home/Calendar buttons not working

Hey everyone. If this has been posted already, I apologize.

I'm having some problems with my buttons down at the bottom. More than half the time when I push one nothing happens. I have not changed a setting at all......Sometimes when I do a soft reset the problem is fixed, most of the time it is not. Any ideas what might be causing this? There is a guy in the office who has an IPAQ that played with it for a while. He cant figure the problem out either. :rolling:

Thanks for the help

Makes no sence that it works for a short time after a soft reset. Have you installed any software on the AX that might remap the buttons?

Have you checked under settings and buttons to make sure they point to the right assignment?

I have checked under the settings and they are pointing to the right assignments.....i havent installed anything that didnt come with my Ax. It is a refurb, so dont know if that has anything to do with it. I've had the Ax now for about a month.

You could always try a Hard Reset... but you will lose all your settings and programs. Since you have only had the AX for a month, you may not have much on the AX. Next you could call dell and see if they can send you a replacement... but since it is a refurb they may not honor that.

NOTE: If you have never done a Hard Reset you may want to search the boards for more info... it's that that bad, but if it is your first it can be a headache.

Good Luck!

Joker, thanks for the help. I'll give the hard reset a try, after reading up about it here.
