GPS reciever? keeping CF slot

NEWBIE here, how are all?
got my X5 and destinator, i already have a cf memory card and do not want to have to buy another. Therefore what would be the options for me in purchasing a GPS reciever? i am a bit confused when looking at other posts that only refer to CF adapters etc. Can i use USB or serial or the like? Any help is appreciated

Welcome to Aximsite!

Your other choice would be to use a serial/mouse GPS receiver, which plugs into the bottom port of your X5.

Here are some examples:

NOTE: Do not get the USB version as your X5 has no USB port.

I'm guessing that an SDIO card should work as well:

Not if you have an X5, which has no SDIO capability.

I have a Garmin handheld GPS that I used with my X5 for a while with a serial cable. I worked fine except that I did not like having the extra cables for serial and power.
