WriteShield Delivery Time

:) Does anyone know if pc techs are backordered with the axim protectors? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and I have received no communications regarding delivery. How long did it take to get yours? Thanks!

I only received notification after my order was processed and shipped.

I preordered it a week before Christmas knowing no Axim protector would be shipped until Dec 27. I got my notification on Dec 30 that my ordered had been processed and shipped. I received it several days later.

I would not be surprised if Axim WriteShield are in backordered. There are not many other protectors made for Axim with this kind of quality. Heck, there are not many ready made Axim screen protectors, period :P .

However, PC Techs should give an estimated ship date.

I am pretty sure they are backordered. Check their site, or try to email them about your order, and they will let you know.

I purchased Dell WriteSHIELD on Thursday 1/9. I received an email on Monday 1/13:

Due to an overwhelming flood of orders, the Dell WriteSHIELD has been placed on backorder for a few days. We expect to start shipping the Dell again on Friday, January 17th, and will ship your order as soon as possible.

I received an email Friday, 1/17 saying my order had shipped via FedEx and provided a tracking number.

I am surprised that you have not received any communication. The company did a great job at keeping me informed throughout the process.

I look forward to receiving my screen protectors early next week.

I also got a tracking number on the 17th. I was starting to get upset because I thought they lost my order. I had planned on calling them that very day to find out why I had not heard a thing in over a week. Now I am very excited to get my hands on them. I gotta protect my baby!

It seems they're picking back up now. I placed my order on the 13th and got a confirmaton on the 17th saying that my order will ship on the 18th. Took them a bit to actually make initial contact, though, which I thought was a bit silly.

Oh well, I hope they're as good as everyone says, it'll be nice to have a long lasting protector that really feels like a naked screen!

I just received my WriteShield order today. I, too, had received the notification that there was a backorder - so it seems they're catching up now. My order also was "upgraded" to FedEx shipping, gratis, without my asking. I assume this was done as a courtesy to make up lost time.

The WriteShield's look great, and I can't wait to install them on the Axim. Of course, my Axim is backordered too, and so it will be several more weeks before I can....

Although there was an initial period of non-communication, as others here have noted (I received a confirmation, but not a report that it was backordered until almost a week had passed), I'm impressed with the WriteShields themselves.

My WriteShields just arrived via Fed Ex today 1/20. I placed the order on 1/9 and got an e-mail on 1/18 that they had shipped.

They look great and the install is fairly straight forward. It only took a few minutes to clean and layout the die cut film.

There is a very slight gap at the bottom, but it makes the film easy to adjust and remove later.

All I need now is a good metal case, I had a Rhinoskin for my Palm V, and a way to figure out how to get Vindigo PPC to install properly on my Windows 2000 notebook. (I think I need admin rights, which I do not have.)

Any thoughts appreciated.
