Question Power Point, digital projector question

I am looking to equip each of my sales staff with the Axim 300 or 400. It would be new for me too. Some pre-purchase questions:

We recently purchased a HP digital projector, model sb21. Some of us have laptops that we use along with the HP projector for Power Point presentations. It would be great for anyone with an Axim to use the projector, to not have to carry around their laptops to client visits.

1) Is there a way to connect the projector to the Axim? Here is the setup page from HP (no PDA shown):

http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/documen...cName=bpj07224

2) If yes to # 1, will there be a video quality difference in the presentation between the Axim and laptop when shown through the projector?

3) Anyone see a reason for Axim 300 vs 400 when it comes to Power Point, if no video will be shown (just slides).

Thanks in advance!

Here is a review of a product that will allow you to do what you wish...

http://www.aximsite.com/reviews/inde...id=76&catid=25

I've used it and the quality is just as good as with my laptop.

There would be no reason to get a 400 over a 300 for PPT presentations....

Let us know what you decide...

Using our future Axims for this purpose, yes I agree a bit boring, but I need to come up with some justification for the purchase to those I answer to :p

If my guys need to travel out of the office and need just email and powerpoint capabilities, a 802.11 card and getting this projector hooked up to the Axim would be a big savings versus a new laptop.

Will I be using my new Axim for MP3s, videos, etc too? Absolutely.

But the projector connection would help me sell this idea to mgmt.

Anyone have some thoughts on using the Axim for power points?

Thanks.

NP, please let us know if/when you roll this out. I'm thinking of doing the same next fiscal year for my users too...

Definitely will keep you posted. Your info was last bit I was looking for before my purchase. I am going to order my personal Axim myself this weekend, work out the bugs (I am currently using a Handspring so will be a bit different for me) and show the capabilities to my guys (most are using Palm devices). We already have the projector in hand, and the Margi product is going for just $170 @ Amazon. Sure beats dragginng the laptop all over the place.

Cheers.

I use the Margi Presenter to go card & software and I think it's great - you can't edit the presentation once it's been converted, but when running the presentation you can view the notes attached to slides while still showing the slides on the screen - something I haven't been able to do with powerpoint on my laptop.

And you can use it to display files from other programs - e.g PIE

The remote works really well also, and there is a dot which flashes to register the button push - again a feature which I don't get with powerpoint, and now prevents me setting off a whole load of animations will they are loading.

Well worth the investment in my mind - not to mentio how cool it looks when you just use the Ax!
