Question No video on Windows Media Player

I created a slideshow with audio using Windows Movie Maker. It plays fine using Windows Media Player on my PC but I only hear the audio when I play it on my Ax. I have played other .wmv files using the PPC version of Windows Media Player so I know there is no problem with my PPC version of WMP per se.

I have a hunch that this problem is related to the codecs used during encoding. When I checked the properties of the two .wmv files, I noticed that the file that did not play with video contained Windows Media Audio 9 and Windows Media Video 9, whereas the file that played audio and video contained Windows Media Audio V8 and Windows Media Video V7.

Does anyone out there know anything about upgrading the PPC version of Windows Media Player?

Thanks,

Gigi

PPC 2003 is supposed to include the WMP9 update.

Only time will tell (soon I read) if PPC2003 will include WMP9, but until then, the current WMP doesn't play codec 9.

Thanks ZappCatt & smeg36. As I'm not planning to upgrade to PPC 2003 (unless it's free), I hope the update will be available on its own!
