Yeah, that is what it looks like to me. It appears that whoever owned it before had a pocket solution type case attached with velcro.

my hint, carefully (I take no responsibility for this) use a knife on this either a model knife, or a very sharp poecket knife. You will scrape off the paint, but it is a choice between astectics and, well astectics so take you pick of which is uglier

WD 40 works at loosening adhesive. Spray a small amount into a cup, and dab it around the object you want removed. You of course do mot want to spray the Axim directly. This has always worked for me. And like Iwantbatteries I take no responsibilities for any damage done but this might be easier and less damaging than a knife.

If you really can't stand it, carefully wiggle a single edge razor blade under it at a very shallow angle. Don't try to get the adhesive off, just the fabric. You should then be able to roll the contact cement off with your fingers. Finish up with a paper towel moistened with windex.

if you wish to remove it

Dental floss may help you if you have it. Hook the floss between AXIM and that velcro like thing and pull the floss to the right and to the other:p

Hard to explain with words, but I hope you may understand what I mean.

in my opinion ide remove it....i would rather take the small chance of scratching it than leaving that eyesore on there...ive had very sticky velcro on my axim and was able to remove it and use some rubbing alcahol to clean it up....

This is actually a much desired upgrade designed to increase the level of shock that the Ax can handle safely.

It is an offshoot of alien technology, & will consume any dogs or cats in your neighborhood if improperly removed.
