G'Day,

I have tried the following on my 300 with some bad results...

Turbo Tray (The best so far) but it does freeze occasionally
Speed Stepper Pick a wrong speed and bang its frozen
XCPUScalar did some funny things.

About to look at Pocket hack master....

Ermmm, ever ran a processor-intensive program ?

If yes, then you should see hundreds of reasons to overclock a PPC ;) A clear-cut case is that of the various emulators and Doom/Quake/Wolf ports, where the frame rate gains are immediately noticeable ;)

...Yep My Gameboy Advance SP runs Doom II and Duke Nukem with VERY fast speed while I set my Dell to 200Mhz turn the screen off and get over 12 hrs use on media player ;)

I've been using XScaleCtrl on a 300 for the past few months with zero problems. OCs to 400 without a hitch.

[hijack ahead]

ok guys,

you've piqued my interest in SNES/Gameboy emulators for the AXIM. How well do they run? And there's no special porting for the AXIM right? Just use the ones made for the PC I assume?
I would definitely KILL for an SNES/Gameboy Advanced EMU in between classes I teach, lol.

I run TurboTray498. If there is a game or app that is acting laggy to me, then I just tap the icon to jump up to 498MHz. Otherwise, I leave it at 400MHz.

I saw in a message that o/c dosen't work with the PXA250. Is this true for all of the o/c programs?

Thank you,

Not true at all. Mine is a PXA250 B2 stepping from back in February. I run TurboTray498 with no problems at all.

Does overclocking drain the battery faster (normally)?

Yes. Although I have never left my Axim to go below 50-60% on either battery ;) But when o/ced, you can almost see the battery charge disappearing :crooked:
