Overclocking your PDA is just not worth it. It's cool and geeky and I admit I have done it but it's simply not necessary. It's not like I'm transcoding from divx to wmv on my PDA and that I need as much speed as I can get...

Most functions of my Axim work flawlessly at 200Mhz...

There you have it :)

It's worth it for SNES. Really makes a difference when you OC to 498 Mhz with Turbotray.

I will admit I 'do' play games on my PPC, however (to my anyhow) I'll take my Gameboy Advance SP over running down my battery on the device that's supposed to help me work ;)
My bestfriend has a PPC Phone, yacks on it so much but yet whines when the battery dies and he can't get his information.
When I use Excel or HanDbase I cannot 'see' a differencr between 200 mhz or 400 mhz.

X-5, just the same here, I prefer my Gameboy over my Axim for gaming. The buttons are better and the games are easy and fast without worries :)

I use my Axim as calendar, MP3 player and sometimes for movies but not for emulation..

peterpro, you might want to try Pocket Hack Master

Says:
Quote:
Hack Master will squeeze the maximum from you XScale based device. It allows overclocking your 400 MHz Pocket PC to 500 MHz and gain additional 20% performance boost. Or you can clock down the CPU to preserve battery power. Manually tweak the memory and LCD multipliers to run your CPU in Turbo or Run mode, set the SDRAM latency, refresh rate or refresh cycles. Get detailed information on your device, see the running processes, threads, loaded DLLs. See the system databases and your power status. Pocket Hack Master can be minimized to tray and run in background. The Scale triggers are used to set the triggering values for the CPU load that will change the CPU speed when the desired load is reached.

I currently use these settings within Advanced Xscalctrl

L = 32
M = 1
N = 5.0

The results are :
Processor = 590MHz
Memory Speed = 117.96 MHz

I have a PXA255 Processor this will not work on a PXA250 System.

Since this is a poll, I was referring to my own situation.. Maybe that wasn't so clear. From my personal experience, I don't need a higher CPU clock speed as all my movies, DIVX and WMV, play without noticeable lag or synchronisation issues.

Greetings!

Keon

I'm a bit of a "speed freak", and I like to tinker with everything I've got (from cars to gadgets).

However, with the Palm and the Axim, I have installed the best AND simplest overclocking program that I could find (FastCPU on the Palm, TurboTray for the Axim), I have set them to the maximum useful and stable frequency, and I didnt bother afterwards......my battery life is still pretty decent, so since it works fine o/c, why not ? ;)

Same here. I use Turbo Tray 498 and haven't had a problem.
