Cant get WIFI working with AMBICOM 11mbps card

Hi All,

I installed an Ambicom card in my X5 (upgraded to 2003 version).

Once I plug the card in, the led transitions on/off every second or so, the unit is unresponsive, no taps, buttons or power respond to actions.

Once I remove the card the unit reposnds to my requests.

I have a WRT54G Linksys router set to mixed mode.

I'm not sure if this card is compatible or not.

Any ideas?

The Ambicom card definitely works with the X5. Many people here used them. Did you install the correct drivers for WM03? If not, try them but it doesn't sound normal for the PPC to become nonresponsive, even without the drivers, so you may have a faulty card.

Well,

Since my card was WL2433000831

I downloaded and installed the drivers from:


Windows Mobile 4.x/Pocket PC 2003/2003SE
Support WPA*, 802.1x and WEP

*Supported CF card serial number range:
WL2433000001 – WL2433001200 &
WL2443000001 ~ WL2443001000




But I could try the other drivers for:


Pocket PC 2003, Windows Ce.NET 4.20
Support 802.1x and WEP


I'll try again tonight and post results. It probably is a faulty card.

I'll try it on my PC as well to verify the card.

Thanks for the info.

I got my card to work.

I had to install the proper driver. The site was not clear.

I used:
