I order the Axim last Monday and I had some questions that came to mind.
I play guitar and download alot of tabs off the internet. I was wondering when viewing the text files on the Axim, is there a word wrap or does it display the file just like it shows on my computer?
I have a digital camera and it records MOVs. Are there any video players that support .MOVs?
Is it a major task to compress video files into ppc format(does it work everytime?)? And do you do all the transferring/compressing in Windows Media Player?
Finally, if someone could so graciously give me the dimensions of the pleather case with the Axim in it?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for anything

I was expecting a 1-2 week wait, but looks like my expected ship date is Feb. 4. I dunno how I'm gonna last 3 weeks without my new toy. :(

PS This board kicks ass!

Cool

PocketWord has a "Wrap to Window" function that can be either enabled or disabled - disabling it should make the tabs look like they do on your desktop computer.

I don't believe there is a video player for Pocket PC that supports .mov. There are several .avi players, however. Using this guide, you can convert .mov to .avi, and then use this guide to optimize the .avi for playback on the Pocket PC. It's a painful process the first couple of times around, but once you get the hang of it it shouldn't be too bad. Then you can use PocketMVP to play the file on your PPC.

I don't have the dimensions on me, nor a ruler handy. ;) Though here are the dimensions of the Axim by itself (the case adds a bit on to each dimension, but not too much):
  • Length 128 mm (5.04 inches)
    Width 81.5 mm (3.21 inches)
    Height 18 mm (0.71 inches)
    Weight 196 grams (6.9 oz)

Hey Covert, nice to see you.
