Axim std. vs Axmi Performance

Hello from a newbie to these forums :D

I've recently purchased an Axim Standard after having 2 iPaq's (yuk).


I was wondering if anyone has tried both the Standard & Performance models & could tell the difference between the two in terms of performance (i.e. apart from the memory sizes - I've got a 256 mb PQI CF card for extra storage space).

I was thinking of buying a cradle & the cost difference between buying a cradle or selling the standard & buying the performance model isn't that great... or should I just wait for the PPC2003 version (assuming it'll be a different model...)

Well, it won't be a different model with PPC2003, the new models aren't coming out until fall sometime from what I hear. Also, there is no guarantee that 2003 will be made available on the Ax, but it probably will.

I just recently got the Advance after a few months of having the Basic, and I can tell a speed difference from the extra 100 Mhz, but more than that probably from more RAM to run the system. I think it is worth getting the Advance. As you said, it really isn't that much more, especially with all the good deals that are surfacing recently.
