SD WiFi cards???

Is there such thing as a SD wifi card?? The reason i ask is because i thought the slot on the top of my AX was the SD slot and i bought two sticks of CF memory. Well, now i cant use my CF memory and a CF WiFi card at the same time. DOH. Thanks in advance.

this is not your lucky day....yes, there are SD wifi cards, BUT the Axim cannot use them.

for now, the Axim can only accept memory cards in its SD slot.

:) try not to confuse the word sticks with CF memory cards. I only say it because there are memory sticks like the ones Sony make.
The SD slot on the side of the Ax is not capable of using an SD WiFi card. It's only good for memory besides being to slow to transfer the data. The CF slot on the Ax is a better choice for WiFi. :D

Of course you can use them. The CF slot will work for memory AND various adapters. Just not at the same time since only one will fit into the Axim at a time. On the other hand as has already has been pointed out, the SD slot can only be used for memory.

I’m sorry I seem to be making this confusing. SDIO has nothing to do with the CF slot. On the Axim:

The CF slot can use a memory card OR most adapter cards (modem, network, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, CF-2-PCMCIA, CF-2-USB, CF micro drives, CF-2-VGA, IR extenders, and any other type I or type II CF card as long as there are drivers available for WinCE or PPC2002).

The sd slot can (as far as we know) ONLY utilize memory cards.

And far as anyone knows, no one has tried using the SD slot for SDIO. I've looked in a few forums for the answer and Dell Support (as knowledgeable as they are about the Axim) and all still state that The Axim is not SD/IO compatable. I cannot even fine any detailed tech specs on it. Intel is great about their processor details but they aren't the ones who wired the Axim for SDIO compatability. :( So as it stands, sorry no SDIO on the Axim w/c is probably one of the reasons why it is selling at a low price.
