This URL is not correctly formatted

Can anyone help. I loaded and removed a couple of programs now when I try to use internet explorer I get "This URL is not correctly formatted"

Can you be specific about the URL, is it a particular one? i.e. maybe the home page of Pocket IE? More please?

When I open Internet explorer the address page is blank and a separate box opens with the message "This URL is not correctly formatted" so I guess it must be the home page. Everthing is locked until I click on the ok in the message box and then the IE page goes off so I cannot enter an address.
