downloading programs on the x5

Here's my question. I recently read somthing about programs installing into the wrong places...I'm planning on plenty of programs for my x5..

Gps, personal finance,car maintinence, ect,ect..

Should the program files be installed on a big SD card or CF memory card or is there plenty of room on the x5 as far as built in storage?

I have the x5 advanced with more memory.
I believe its split 50/50 between program memory and storage memory, if thats correct.

Thanks in advance

I would install to the memory cards. Especially with programs that are big in size.

Basically it requires more ram to run these programs, and more ram to store them, so your memory can get real low when running a big demanding app, thats why storage cards help.

Use Cabinstl to specify where u want cab files installed. And from activesync, when it says "Install program to main memory", select no and find cf card or sd card from the drop down list.

I install all my programs to memory cards, that way if my PDA has to be hard reset, I can still access my programs

But this may not work with all programs. Some programs install files in the /windows directory or need reg keys to work. Just keep a backup on your card along with the apps, and they will always work fine...
