I've had my Axim for about a 2 months now and have had similar problems to a lot of people, D-Pad, Microphone... and I just saw a post the other day about revision numbers.
I checked on my Axim to note that it was Revision A04, and from what I understand A05 has been released.
Does anyone know if this new revision is actually better? Does it just come with the D-Pad hotfix, or are there any actually hardware modifications that have been done to the device?
I'd like to know before tomorrow morning so I know what sort of angle to take with Dell Canada support!
Thanks in advance!! :D
Nick

Hmm... That's really strange. There has to be *some* difference between the two revisions. Or does there? Is it just the next production line of Axim units?

A revision number could be a lot of things, some as simple as using a different manufacturer for a given component on a board to a slight design change. Dell could even assign a revision number change if a modification was made to a Dell peculiar patch for the software. It is usually nothing more than a guide for techs and tech support folks for reference purposes. I wouldn't imagine it being a big deal. It could even be as obscure as a production run identifier in some cases.
Another two cents worth. :-)
Ciao,
Ron

That's what I was wondering, I assumed as much seeing as people with A00 had no problems, and also were ones that got their Axim units *after* me, but were in the US.
oh well, maybe the replacement I get (if I ever get it!) will just fix the problems and I can live happily ever after :D
Thanks for the help.
