unresolved sync files?

Need help here, people in the know,

I have Active sync, I think version 4.2?
My problems is I can't seem to find the the files that did not sync, to correct them or remove them?

Where are they? How do I resolve the problems?

Does it really matter if all the files don't sync and some do like in templates?

Is there better software for sync. then Microsoft programs?

This is not an answer but I had a similar problem and it turned out to be rolling items in my calendar such as birthdays - I cured this by entering them on a year by year basis - a bit of a pain but easier than the hassle with AS. The other thing it used to do was duplicate contacts for no discernible reason and through up conflicts. AS is crap but as far as I know there isn't an alternative, I'm using 4.1 which seems pretty stable, I tried 4.2 but it went bad so I went back to 4.1.

I think I found my problems, what I did was two things.
1. I reloaded from the web site version 4.2 and it must have fixed some corrrupted files that stop my sync some things.
2. I went to thread on this site and now know I must not have my axim 5 in the cradel to sync all the time, that is not in until the computer is fully running and to take it out will it shut down.

Now another question if your can helps, why does my axim while it sets in the cradle not lite up when I sync and recharge it?
