Truemoble 1180 card not recognized?

I have even tried reinstalling the drivers for our Truemobile 1180 WLAN CompactFlach card but when I slide the card in I get this message "Unrecognized Card. Enter the name of the device driver for this card. For Info see the card manufacturer's documentation. " then below is where you type it in which says "Unknown Card in Socket 1" ... I typed in Truemobile 1180 and tap ok, then when I go to internet explorer it says "Cannot connect" "Unable to connect: You have no modem entried created and no network card present".. I do have the 1180 card in and we have wireless internet throughout our home... Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.. This is my wife's PDA and I swear I had it working on our wireless network a year ago, she told me today it has worked for a while. One more thing, I think I remember the Dell lit up on the card when I slide it into the X5 before, is it suppose to light up, right now it does not...

I get this message "Unrecognized Card.

That is the message you would get when no driver is present for the card. Perhaps you've done a hard reset? Make sure you have the right driver for your Axim. You can download them from Dell.

The Dell logo on the 1180 doesn't light up but there is a small activity light just to the left of the Dell. It glows orange when the card is inserted into my X5 and blinks green during activity. If you have no light you could have a dead card.

Make sure you have the correct operating system version of the driver.

If I recall, they're also pretty adamant that you install the software before ever plugging the card in. Same with USB devices to a pc in most cases.

Try http://prism.tjtech.org/.

I'm sure members are getting pretty sick of me recommending this site. Worked for me when nothing else did.

I'm not sure the Dell card has a Prism chipset. If not, the prism drivers will not work.

BTW, you certainly are not the first to recommend these drivers. sHARD>>, the person that created these from the intersil reference drivers is a long time member here and posted about them himself over 2 years ago.
