Rules for sync'ing

I am so fed up with searching the fora and getting too many results. I searched with different words, different spellings, different combinations, but the results are all the same. I can't search with all words typed included.

On my desktop, I have Activesync 4.2. My Axim X5 works the way it should.

My problem is that in the Activesync options: rules, I specifically checked that the items on the DESKTOP should be replaced by the items on my Axim.

When I sync and there is a conflict, the message box that pops up only gives me the options of combining (not what I want to do) or replacing the items on my Axim (not what I want to do.)

Obviously, since I can take my Axim with me, any changes I make should be sync'ed to the desktop and not the reverse.

How is this problem solved. (Short of purchasing a new Axim.)

That is the only time I get conflicts. To resolve them, I just delete them items and then re-enter them in on either the Axim or the PC.

No, only on my Axim (which is why I carry the Axim.) I can't understand why the only choice is to replace what is on the Axim or to combine them. This is annoying and redundant. (I was in the Navy, so redundancy is quite familiar and necessary at times, but not in this case.)

Is there a way around this other than deleting everything?

I love my Axim and I wouldn't know what to do without it, but it is annoying.
