Every time I turn on my Axim, I get this error message pop-up. It says "Application filesys.exe has performed an illegal operation. Program: filesys.exe Exception: 0x80000002 Address: 0001ba64 Do you want to debug?"

Does anybody know why? I don't want to lose my data, so I don't want to hard reset.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you have a backup that was made prior to the trouble, it's really painless to reset and restore.
I've never seen this problem, but whenever the x acts up, you reset.
First soft, then hard if necessary. That is the extent of my knowledge. It works when the files are not corrupted.

That type of error usually results from one of only two sources - a corrupt file ("filesys.exe") or a memory problem (the file attempted to use a block of ram that was bad or in use when it shouldn't have been). If the file loaded in memory is corrupt then a hard reset is the only way to clear it out and reload the original from ROM. If the memory location specified in the message is the problem, a soft reset should clear that (unless you have a hardware problem - bad memory chip). Hope you have a backup...
