Transfering the address book on a Palm Zire 31 to my new X5

I have not downloaded the ActiveSync software for the X5 to my computer yet, but I am trying to figure out how to copy the contacts stored on my Zire 31 over to the X5. I figured someone out there may have had a Zire 31 & done this before. The methods I've been using.... that should work.... aren't. Advise?

My friend gave me his X5 since he had not touched it in over 9 months & had lost the AC adapter, but still had the cradle. In addition, the backup battery needed to be replaced. So, a new CR2032 ($2.98) & an AC adapter (1$19.95 + S&H).... I'm the new owner of a barely used X5! I love new toys!

Can you export the Zire 31 database to a text or .csv file? From there you can import it to Outlook although you'll still need Activesync to get the information to your X5.

Although......

Pocket PC Contacts Synchronizer might help you along the way.

You could beam all the contacts to the X5 using the Zire 31's IR port

This won't answer your question. But I've had both products and I bet you 'll enjoy the x5 a million times more than the zire 31. Good Luck

How was it not working?
Sometimes you have to make sure that you enable IR on the Axim in Settings.
