Aximsiteactivesyncicon Help. Unable to sync appointments after restore

I have an Axim X51v. Brand new (younger than one month) and I have been generally happy with it :approve: . Maybe a bit slow sometimes :rolling: (especially when considering it has the fastest processor and graphics card), but anyway.

I recently had the misfortune of having to do a hard reset after a setup program was interrupted by a power outage. For some strange reason my Outlook database was also hurt in this process . I wasn't worried since I had a full backup (as well as a backup of all my PIM databases. Being used to working with a Jornada 720 is was not worried. I did my hard reset and restored my backup... and to my horror discovered that Activesync refuses to sync my appointments (about 1500 over the last few years). I used Pocket Informant 2007. I tried everything.... reinstalling OUtlook, doing a second hard reset and only installing the PIM databases. Deleting the partnerships on both machines. Whatever I could think of... the error always remained: "attention required" followed by a useless list of appointments that could not be synced. My contacts, files etc sync without a hitch, but no matter what I try I am not able to sync my appointments .

I then noticed that everything (really) in outlook suddenly had an attachment. I do add some notes to some of my appointments, but every little thing now has an note attached. Opening these notes show them usually empty (or sometimes they duplicate the appointments subject line). Even the birthdays of my contacts suddenly has attachments showing. I suspect that this is the culprit.

But how did it happen ? I backed up my databases before doing a hard reset (as well as a full backup) and no matter which I restore, the problem remains. I did find one workaround, but it is time consuming. Beaming the appointments to Outlook one at a time and then doing a hard reset and re syncing works, but it is not viable to beam all one at a time. Could Pocket Informant be the reason? Luckily I still have all my appointments in tact on my Axim, but I cannot sync it with my PC. :realmad:

Any help? Please

I had similiar issues with restoring a backup but instead of my calendar, it was my Notes and Files that would not sync. Everything was fine on the Axim, but the Axim wouldn't share with my PC. No matter what I did, I could not solve this problem. I eventually did a hard reset and just re-installled everything from scratch, foregoing the backup. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to another hard reset. I hope someone else here will have a more optimistic and informed answer for you. Hope that you can solve this without having to go through the same hastle. Post back if you come up with a solution. Oh, and welcome to the site.

Thanks. As I mentioned, I did find one solution... Clear Outlook. Beam each appointment one after the other.... enter the vCalender files into Outlook. Hard Reset my PDA and resync. It works, but to beam over 1000 appointments is a real bother. I tried Peacemaker, but it can aslo only beam on at a time. I was wondering if there is a program that can export Pocket Outlook in a CSV, or even vCalender format. Then I can only import this into OUtlook before clearing my PDA and resyncing.

Maybe someone knows about such a program ?

Thanks
