X5 Adv new user performance questions

Hi guys!,

i recently bought an used Axim X5 Adv (400Mhz proc/100 Mhz bus /64 Mb ram).

Now (aside going nuts for the low battery msg's and stuff) i find a lot of issues regarding performance of this thing, mainly games and emulators:

Tried Morphgear (GBA, snes, sega emu), PocketSnes (Snes emu), MameCE3 (arcade emulator), Bfe (Pc engine emu), Final Burn (arcade emu) and a couple more.

What i see is that the machine even running at 400 Mhz w/100 Mhz bus speed and 40 + mb free ram completely sucks!!!.

I also have a Jornada 720 w/206 mhz strongarm processor and 32 mb ram, it's bus speed is 50mhz and a Cassiopeia E-125 with mips 150 mhz, same ram as the other and they're 3x or 4x times faster that this thing. So what the heck is going on??? This thing should be fliyng compared to the other ones!!, where's the 400 mhz power!?

I guess PocketDos or DosBox might suffer the same ill efects?!.

I'm planning on updating to WM2K3 to see if something gets better.

I'll answer myself

Last night i updated my Axim X5 to Windows Mobile 2003. That was the problem. Everything now runs smooth as it would be a real 400Mhz processor. I think PP2002 might not be prepared for Xscale processors. Anyway everything works ok now.

the difference is in ppc2003 it enables the 200mhz buss speed but in ppc2002 only 100mhz buss speed is used unless you use a third party app to enable the 200mhz buss but with the buss at 200mhz you are going to use more battery power
