Does anyone know if you can hook your axim up to play mp3s through your tape deck? I have a portable cd player that uses an output jack wired to a tape that plays the cd through the tape player.

I don't have my axim to check this out yet, but can it be done????

Plug your cassette adapter to the headset jack on the Axim and voila you have a little MP3 server at your disposal!

Sure can be done. I did it today (after verifying here that I wasn't going to fry my Ax!)

I'd have issues using the Axim for any remotely serious music application. I find there's far too much electronic noise seeping out. :(

You can use one of those adapters that transmits from any headphone jack to an FM stereo on like 88.1 or 88.9. I think thats kinda cool. I'm going to make some MP3's of my buddies band while we are driving around and tune it to the station it transmits too and watch him freak while his music is on the radio....

should be a real kick.

You can buy a fm transmitter for your car that attaches to your earphone jack. then tune in your radio, they cost around $30.

Most electronic stores have them

I've found that the Axim's audio output is very weak. While listening to MP3s through some headphones, the audio got very fuzzy at higher volumes, as the Axim ran out of juice to feed the Sony studio headphones.

For your application however, the car stereo would be the amplifier and not the Axim, so I would think it would work ideally.

I've noticed low output from Axim headphone jack also. I live in NYC and I cannot hear anything even with the volumn raised to full when I am on the subway. My Samsung Yepp YP-700 works well even when the express train rushs by me...

Maybe its me, but I drive to the train in the morning and have my Axim pumping though my tape adapter in my car, and I listen to it as I take the subway into midtown manhatten... everything is perfect.

I'm using my Axim as my main MP3 player now, for the most part, and I don't notice any major digital noise coming from it, but I am also coming from the Nex II MP3 player, which never was one of the "better" MP3 players on the market.

There are also other MP3 players out there that, with use of the Equalizer, might be able to filter out all the crap...

Just a thought!
