"Hard" reseting the Axim causes the D-Pad button fix to uninstall, therefore it had to be re-install again. Is it just with my Axim or anyone who does a hard reset after the button fix experience the same?

Is there anyway the D-Pad button fix could be made permanent?

Thanks

To my understanding, this is how patches work. They are placed in RAM under the Windows directory. Since they are in RAM, a hard reset will definately remove them.

Someday Microsoft will issue an OS upgrade. Then Dell will come out with a flash upgrade, which should include the D-pad patch. Then the installation will be permanent.

The patch is merely a piece of software, a program just like any other, that you install.

If you hard reset, you lose all of your installed programs, including the patch. This is a software update
and unfortunately not a firmware update.
