How do you write your notes or word docs?

When I had a palm I used the script to take notes or input characters in notes etc.. Now that I have my Axim I seem to use the keyboard more than anything even though I feel that the block input is very good. You get words suggested for both and the handwriting recognition is very good in the block recognizer. I timed myself creating a new doc using the keyboard and the block. I took 45 seconds with the block and 31 seconds with the keyboard to input properly spelled; The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. I think with automatic spell checking this would be a lot faster.

I practically never use the pen because my handwriting is so awful. I have not needed to use the voice recorder handy as it must be for some.
I know others must be a lot faster than me but I was curious what method others use?

I use transcriber...but my handwriting is bad too. I'm waiting on a Dell keyboard for larger documents...never had a palm so only tried block recognizer to play around with for a while

I don't do a lot of writing on my Axim, but when I do I usually use either Transcriber or Recognizer.

The transcriber could be better. Maybe it is if you download the newer version. It's really hard to train it, because it has huge sets of recognized characters, instead of allowing you to select individual methods you use. Some Palm apps will let you train the handwriting recognition however you like, so it recognizes YOUR handwriting, not some universal script like the transcriber.

I usually just use the keyboard, because I know I'm not going to have to go back and fix mistakes... if I'm going to type anything long, I just use the external keyboard.

Big Smile

I regularly use Transcriber. My handwriting is TERRIBLE but I usually have no probs deciphering back at my desk after taking notes during meetings.

Footnote: My son bought me an iR keyboard for Fathers' Day and I will begin taking that to my meetings. My goal for 2004 is to be nearly completely PAPERLESS!!!! I have been working on this already and want to replace multitudes of notes, agendas and yellow stickies w/ the e-version.

Isn't that Transcriber 1.5 thing on Microsoft's site an update to the one that comes with 2002? Maybe I'm wrong about that. I've never downloaded it, so I wouldn't know :)
