Worried any1 know how split big files so i can put them on my axim

hi...
i hav a 60 MB video file that i want to play on my axim (basic)

i hav the following amount of memory free
built in storage (axim) 5.62
main memory (axim) 20.00
32 MB SD card 29.62
16 MB SD card 15.23

total - 70.45 MB free

my question is... can i split this 60 MB file to fit in the memory above.

any help would be greatly appreciated

You can split the video file, but the only way I know of is using Movie Maker. You can also use the same software to compress the video so that it can fit on you 32MB SD card but I don't think the quality wuold be as great.

This page will show you how to split an AVI with Virtualdub. This won't help you at all if the file is not an AVI and obviously, if you don't have VD installed. That being said, here's the link.

Any video editing software can split movies into more files. The only plus to Movie Maker is that it comes with WinXP, but if you don't have WinXP you can probably download some demo software off www.download.com.

Good luck to you. I found it a little fustrating splitting/compressing vid files at first, but for me it turned out to be a little fun. :p
