Most of your technical questions seem to have been answered, so I won't repeat them, but I do want to assure you it does get better! A Pocket PC is different in many ways from the Palm and a regular PC and software installs somewhat differently. You're bound to be a little frustrated as you figure things out. I went through the same thing but realized my frustrations were no different than those I'd experienced learning to use a regular PC...much less actually. Trust me...in a few days, you'll love it.

Me too! I switched from Palm to PPC in December. The first few days were not too fun, but I finally made the leap and sold my NR70.
