I'm as shocked as you that it is free, but check this: http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/d...s/powertoys.asp

The remote display control is one of the coolest things on there. Basically has a window on your desktop that is your Axim. Use the mouse and keyboard instead of the stylus while it's docked. Good stuff. Hope eveyone else like it too.

Should be posted in the software forum. This application is already being discussed there.

I can't seem to connect to the Remote Display control. I assume hostname is my pc's machine name. It always says pc not found. I'm trying via infrared right now. Will it only work via cradle/usb?

In the readme file it says to leave the Hostname as PPP_PEER.

Try removing activesync and reinstalling...
This appears to fix any connection issues..

I got the hook-up to work the first time, but later it seemed like it wouldn't connect. Just an empty window on the PC.
It took me a minute to realize that you have to start the app on both the desk-top and on the PPC for it to happen.

I've found that if you start it first on the Desktop then the PPC it seems to work better, also get activesync 3.7. I don't know if that makes a difference but I have less connect problems since I upgraded.
